About Our Chapter

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Welcome to Pi Beta Phi!

Here at Texas Beta, we are so proud of our incredible members who strive to promote friendship, cultivate leadership potential, and enrich lives through community service. Being a Pi Phi is a true honor, and an experience like no other. I am inspired every day by our members and alumni, and have made the most sincere friends who mean the world to me. The opportunities to lead are endless, and I have learned so much about myself through leading this chapter. Pi Phi has greatly impacted my personal growth, but has also allowed me to support other members in their growth. Pi Phi women are there for each other through every up, and every down. It is a privilege to be a part of this chapter, and one that I know we will all cherish forever!

We welcomed our newest member class in January, and are so proud of how eager they are to become involved in the chapter. Our newest members can be found serving as leaders on committees like Homecoming, Philanthropy, and Sisterhood. They serve as Directors of Housing and Academics. They even attend Pi Phi National Leadership Institute with Pi Phi women from across the nation. The new member class also has a passion for sisterhood, attending and planning events from movie nights to self-defense classes, that create an even stronger bond within their pledge class. Our new members have found a support system in Pi Phi, and will continue to grow as individuals, friends, and leaders.

Texas Beta is also incredibly dedicated to our philanthropic literacy work. You can find us spending time with local Dallas schools such as Obadiah Knight, West Dallas Community School, Cigarroa Elementary, and Spring Valley Elementary. We host book and supply drives, recently partnered with United to Learn to expand our volunteer opportunities, create material that encourages literacy, and love to spend time reading with the students in the classroom. We are also proud of our many fundraising events—the two most popular ones being Arrowspike and Making Spirits Bright—and how we benefit local literacy projects with the money we raise. Beyond our financial contribution, we contributed 1,408 total hours of service to our community in the Spring of 2022. Our members take so much pride in helping children develop a love for learning.

It is truly an honor to serve as President for the chapter and women I love so dearly. Texas Beta is a home for incredible women with diverse passions, personalities, and interests, and a shared love for Pi Phi. All are welcome to reach out and talk to our members to learn more, and we hope that everyone sees our incredible sisterhood in the same light that we do. My life, and many other lives, are changed forever because of Pi Phi.

Pi Phi Love!
