About Our Chapter
Letter from the President

Welcome to the Texas Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi!

We are so proud of our chapter and the accomplishments of each and every one of our members. Being a Pi Phi has been one of the best experiences of my life, and has brought me the greatest friendships, leadership roles, and personal growth. In Pi Phi I am surrounded by women who are my role models, my best friends, and my biggest supporters. I am confident that all of our new members will find this same value during their time in Texas Beta and after.

We have just welcomed our newest members into our chapter in January, and are so looking forward to their upcoming initiation. Initiation is always a fun and busy time for us, as it is combined with our Mother’s Weekend luncheon. The luncheon we share with our mothers is an opportunity to recognize the New Member Class of 2019 and award active members for academic achievements and their dedication to our chapter.

Texas Beta is committed to our philanthropic literacy work. Our efforts to help young children learn how to read include a reading buddy mentorship program with a local Dallas elementary school. One of the teachers there is a former Chapter President of Texas Beta, and we love being able to connect with our alumni and support literacy efforts together. Our members develop meaningful relationships with the young students, become invested in their progress, and spread a love for reading and learning. While we support our philanthropy in many ways, we are especially proud of our philanthropy events. Arrowspike, Making Spirits Bright, and Pi Phi Gives You Wings were so successful and benefited local literacy projects. I am looking forward to continuing these events while also working to raise money and awareness in new ways.

We are also looking forward to our panhellenic events, Pi Phi sisterhood events, community outreach programs, and Monmouth- our annual formal in April with Kappa Kappa Gamma to celebrate our founding!

I am incredibly grateful to be starting my term as Chapter President of the girls I love with all of my heart. I know they will make my job easy and enjoyable, as they continue to give back to this organization. You won’t meet more genuine, fun, smart, hilarious, amazing girls outside of Pi Phi, and I can’t wait to see what else is to come from this impressive chapter.

The SMU Pi Phi chapter is full of personality, love, and a deep appreciation for one another. I am so thankful to have found a place where everyone can be themselves despite being from different places and having different interests and passions. Visitors are always welcome at our house, and I’m sure they’ll instantly see and understand the true sisterhood we have at Pi Phi once they walk through the door. Please reach out at any time!

Pi Phi Love and Mine,

Kate Adams
